Hand Lettered Birthday Sign

I had another opportunity to design and create a hand lettered "chalkboard" sign for a baby girl's first birthday! This may be my favorite one by far!

The beauty of Instagram is that my work is gaining notice and I'm gaining followers, and for that I am so thankful and grateful. I guess you could say I've been "commissioned" to create a lot of things for people. I'm almost scared to use that word because it seems to belong to famous and widely recognized artists!...and I'm slowly beginning to recognize myself as an artist. But I absolutely love when someone asks me to make something for them, especially when they trust me to take the creative wheel and do my own thing! Thank you to all who support me. I don't think I can show you how happy you make my heart. :) Here is the latest creation I had the honor of making for a little girl's first birthday photoshoot. I'm my own photographer with the best camera I can afford so please don't judge my pictures too harshly. :)

Hand Lettering

I love being asked to hand letter signs for people! It's one thing I've been practicing since I was so little! It makes me happy when I get compliments on my handwriting too because ever since I was in first grade and I saw my teacher, Mrs. Phillips write on the chalkboard in her perfect print...I knew I wanted mine to look just as perfect! :) Take a look at some of my recent signs! Five days later, and we're celebrating another birthday in the Torres household! Can I get a big Happy Birthday for my mom, the one and only Leticia, Tish, Tisha, Letisha, Mom?!!!! If you have ever had the pleasure of meeting her, you would know she is full of personality and all around goodness!!

 Mom, you are better than the best and cooler than the coolest. I wouldn't be anything I am without you and Dad's unending love and support !!

Guess who these little ones are! :D......Well, they would be two of the best twin brothers that ever were, my Dad and Uncle Hondo! I could write a book on how I feel about them but all anyone needs to know is how much I love them! 

Dad, I admire your strength, care, love, and all your hard work. You are the absolute best!... Hondo, you know you're my favorite Uncle. Thank you for every single thing you've done for me!

December 7, 1992

It's time to send my not so little sister, Elle, a ton of birthday wishes! Today, we celebrate 19 years with this beautiful, comical, loving, fearless, hardworking, insanely talented, leader of the pack! Not long ago it seems she was impressing my friends with her incredibly smooth dance moves when she was 6...and boy, does she still have it!

Elle, you continue to make us proud, as you use your talents to conquer your world....

I love you and I hope you never tire of hearing my advice :)

Sue's Happy Birthday

A special co-worker of mine had a birthday recently and in honor of her we held a luncheon at work. Her love of bright colors and summer led me to make the decor. To celebrate the young at heart I made pinwheels for the tables and festive tissue paper banners. The luncheon was perfect with lots to eat and so much to celebrate!
