Crafting for a Cure!

At work we held a Valentine's bake sale for our Relay for Life fundraiser. I'm not to keen on baking,......so I created these cards to sell instead!

If you want to buy one, I'm selling them for $5, with all the proceeds going to our Relay for Life team!

Te Amo Time!

Yep, Valentine's Day is on its way and I've got that special card for that special someone! Here are some samples, which can be personalized with custom illustrations and any colors you'd like.  A handmade card is the perfect finishing touch for any Valentine's gift!

Each card is created completely by hand on a 4"x5.5" white cardstock. I used gouache paint, colored cardstock, and x-acto knives to create the cards below.

Give Thanks: Pt.2

I was asked to make a few thank you cards by a friend, so last night I put the headphones on, turned the music up, and went to work on them right away! With the arrival of Thanksgiving coming right up, I thought it was perfect.

I chose a color palette of oranges, purple, and turquoise. I hope whoever receives these knows how much they are appreciated!....Do not forget the power of a simple thank you note!

Thanksgiving is approaching pretty fast and I couldn't be more excited!...I've created two greeting cards that are perfect for spreading thanks and gratitude!

These cards are hand lettered and hand painted with gouache.....and made with love! Find them on my Etsy shop, Handmade Wish!....I can even make one that is personalized with a certain color, phrase, or name!

More Treats!

I painted two more Halloween greeting cards last night! The witch hat reminds me of the movie, Hocus Pocus :)....don't you just love that movie?!.....The card I painted with the bat is very reminiscent of Batman... Hope you like!

Treats for your Peeps!

With Halloween coming around the corner I thought it was time to make new greeting cards!.....I'm not too keen on blood and gore but I am keen on the treats, creative costumes, and handing out candy!

These two cards are hand illustrated and  painted with gouache on white cardstock....because a personal, handwritten card in the mail beats an email or text any day!

Fall in Love With Pumpkins

Pumpkins.....the epitome of fall and Halloween, in my opinion! Some of my favorite memories come flooding in.....the ones where choosing the HUGEST and plumpest pumpkin was your highest priority! Coming home with anticipation and excitement to cut into those babies....there are so many awesome and crafty ideas nowadays to dress up your pumpkins, but nothing beats the good old fashioned tradition of cutting into the pumpkin, taking out the slimy insides, and finishing it off by lighting a candle to illuminate the glowing design...seeing all your hard work and feeling the happiness of the season. Yes, that is worth more than gold. :)

This little greeting card is made with care out of hand cut paper. The pumpkins have a 3-D effect, which  I accomplished by using raised foam adhesives and finished the card off by adding a swirl of gold....an autumn breeze.

Are you nuts?!.....no, just a little a-corny!

Ooh, that title is reeal corny! :\.....Anyway, to keep us in autumn mode I want to turn the attention to the cutest nut around, the acorn! What's not to love?! They're cute (the nuts look like they're wearing little berets), plump, little, and an important source of food for wildlife.  Acorns have long been scattered all over the lawn at my parent's house, and inspired this card.

The acorns on my greeting card are completely crafted of paper....the nuts are paint swatches and for the "little berets" I used a textured, weathered brown paper. To finish it off I added a scalloped edge of metallic gold.

Easter Goodness

I can't believe Easter is almost here and April is coming to a close! As a little girl, I remember waking up Easter morning to a basket filled with all sorts of  goodies that the Easter Bunny would leave in my room :) Now I'm all grown up...... even though I must admit I'll always be a kid at heart. I leave you with this Handmade Wish I drew and painted with Gouache and accented with a black Micron marker.
