Idle Hands?

I'm the type that needs to keep my hands and mind busy, whether it be making greeting cards, doodling, or decorating for events! Need some ideas on how to keep those hands busy? Why not try out a new hobby?

Check out these awesome needlepoint kits from Emily Peacock.....incredible! The mid-century modern style of her designs remind me of Johnathan Adler.

 Kiss & Hug

A few years back I went to an Etsy Holiday Bazaar in Dallas and stumbled upon Sublime Stitching...I tried my hand at embroidery and found it to be so easy! I embroidered tea towels and pillowcases for my family and friends during Christmas while I was in college....because as a college student, I was preeetty low on funds. Let me tell you, the gifts were a hit even if they weren't bought at a store!

Te Amo Time!

Yep, Valentine's Day is on its way and I've got that special card for that special someone! Here are some samples, which can be personalized with custom illustrations and any colors you'd like.  A handmade card is the perfect finishing touch for any Valentine's gift!

Each card is created completely by hand on a 4"x5.5" white cardstock. I used gouache paint, colored cardstock, and x-acto knives to create the cards below.

Doodle Goodness

I'm what you could call, professional doodler...I've been at it ever since I could hold a pencil! I remember back in the days of tag and kickball, my go to doodles were the typical hearts, flowers, and smiley faces.... along with my attempts at bubble/block lettering. I've come a long way since then, practicing on every single page of notes I took in high school, college, and everything in between....and well, I'd like to share some of my my recent doodles with you! :)

Snowed In!

After a tough, bone dry year here in West Texas, we are finally getting the moisture we need! We were covered with a heavy blanket of 7.5"of snow!! Winter has been good to us so far.....we've been snowed upon three times in the past two months!

Just chillin' .....really.

Cheers to 2012!

I rang in the New Year along with some other friends in the Land of Enchantment...Ruidoso, New Mexico that is! A wonderful little getaway is always fun and refreshing no matter the distance, and the landscape of Ruidoso with the fresh coat of snow was beautiful!

I have no resolutions for the new year, mainly because they go right out the window after the first two weeks or so, but I do have some goals! I won't share them with you because they aren't too exciting in the first place and a bit personal, but I'll share with you a few little Instagram/iPhone snapshots of my first week of the year that is 2012.

Happy New Year to you all....let us all delve into 2012! :)
