Made With Love

One look at my craft room and you'd think a robber had just rummaged through every drawer and box...but nope, it's just a normal sign that I was in there. I'm a VERY messy maker….but I usually emerge from the mess with some pretty things! Take these greeting cards I've been making for example, all made with love and a heap of mess to clean. I love mixing and matching paper to make bright and beautiful cards that are a small piece of art. I think they would all look awesome framed and hung to admire!…

The cards are made with a heavy watercolor paper and each detail is hand drawn then cut by me! Some of the cards have watercolor elements to them. I'm starting to love using mixed media! Thanks for taking a look! These will be sold at a local shop which my husband's family owns, The Karat Patch!

This card might be my all time favorite. Inspired by the ever famous, Geronimo Balloons, I used watercolors, a variety of papers including: watercolor, glittered, and Lokta paper.

Washi Tape: Three Ways!

I love a good craft product, and washi tape is where its at. This stuff is genius and addicting. I'm gearing up to send out Valentines and have started making various items to add to the Valentine packages to make them more special! Here's the three ways I've used washi tape to add a lot of color and fun!

Up first,  an assortment of shapes cut from an empty 12 pack of ginger ale covered in washi tape. The cardboard from those 12 packs is awesome and sturdy. Some were more tedious than others. I'm not sure what I'm going to use these for yet but I was thinking they would be so cool made into a garland! They would even look awesome placed into a cool collage like pattern then framed and hung.

Second project! I simply used a piece of  Baker's Twine and cut off strips of washi tape and wrapped the tape around cutting the edges into a v-shape. My idea for these was to wrap them around a greeting card for a little something extra.

Last on the list are these initial tags! Again, I used an empty 12 pack box….except this one was beer. :) I then traced a business card, used a stamp, embossing powder and a heat tool to emboss the initial on them and finished off the bottom with strips of washi tape.

Hand Lettered Birthday Sign

I had another opportunity to design and create a hand lettered "chalkboard" sign for a baby girl's first birthday! This may be my favorite one by far!

And a Happy New Year- Letter Exchange Project

My most recent mail exchange was hosted by Rin Dawson of the awesome blog, Papered Thoughts. Our task was to create a little New Years Kit that would fit in an envelope. I made a 2014 headband, two tissue paper party wands, glassine packets of gold confetti, party picks, a gold mask, a NYE Playlist, and noise makers! I hope the kit made its journey safely to Germany!

Snail Mail - Swap Bot Letter Exchange

Mail. The good kind. The kind that is packaged pretty with the beautiful stationery or card and handwritten thoughts! Swoon! I've been making handmade cards for quite awhile....make that 6 years! its kind of my thing! I started my little card making journey in my college dorm room at UNT (The University of North Texas) and sold them at the local flower shop I used to work at, FlowerGarden, for $5 a pop!  They've come a long way!.... but I love to send some of my cards out when I participate in a swap...along with hand lettering and that oh so famous washi tape. This is one of the most recent package I sent out that included handmade envelopes, my handmade ice cream card, and a postcard from Marfa, TX that didn't make it into the picture since it didn't match the color scheme I had going on! HA!

Birthday Banner

The beauty of Instagram is that my work is gaining notice and I'm gaining followers, and for that I am so thankful and grateful. I guess you could say I've been "commissioned" to create a lot of things for people. I'm almost scared to use that word because it seems to belong to famous and widely recognized artists!...and I'm slowly beginning to recognize myself as an artist. But I absolutely love when someone asks me to make something for them, especially when they trust me to take the creative wheel and do my own thing! Thank you to all who support me. I don't think I can show you how happy you make my heart. :) Here is the latest creation I had the honor of making for a little girl's first birthday photoshoot. I'm my own photographer with the best camera I can afford so please don't judge my pictures too harshly. :)

I think I just committed a sin in the blogosphere by posting Halloween related cards AFTER Halloween! Sorry! Life has been hectic on my side! Well, here are a few Halloween goodies that were sent out with lots of care. The cards and garland are all handmade along with the card decor. Thank you for looking!
